The TSM Center integrates its distinct inter-traditional and interdisciplinary approaches into National Taiwan University’s courses, research training, and public education.

We maintain that the metaphysical dimensions of our traditional and scientific worldviews constitute indispensable, fundamental facets of human experience, and that the educated public should receive both accessibility to and awareness of these dimensions.

Courses

National Taiwan University promotes a multi-perspectival and multidisciplinary approach to education, especially emphasizing the union of traditional humanities and scientific breakthroughs. The TSM Center actively contributes to this mission, continuously guiding students towards understanding the philosophical and metaphysical aspects of the broader picture.

At present, the TSM Center offers the “Consciousness and Cognition” (意識與認知) undergraduate course package, which includes 5 relevant courses: “Philosophy of Mind” (心智哲學), “Introduction to Philosophy of Consciousness” (意識哲學導論), “Human Learning and Cognition” (人類學習與認知), “Phenomenology and Cognition” (現象學與認知), and “Buddhist Philosophy of Consciousness” (佛教意識哲學).

Public education

Members of the TSM Center have published a number of public articles discussing traditional and scientific worldviews. Additionally, they have partnered with the Taiwan Association for Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science and Technology (LMPST Taiwan, 臺灣邏輯、方法論、科學與科技哲學學會) to organize public forums. These forums present multidisciplinary perspectives on significant themes such as human consciousness, artificial intelligence, and the prospects of traditional humanities.
